James Taylor (1948) has been active as a singer, guitarist and songwriter since the late Sixties. Many - rightfully - regard him as the "father" of the singer-songwriter genre gat became popular in the early Seventies. His introspective songs, virtuoso acoustic guitar playing and warm voice immediately connected with an audience. This was reflected in a stream of many hit singles and albums. Among his most famous hits are "Fire and Rain", "You've Got a Friend", "Carolina In My Mind", "Handy Man", "Sweet Baby James" en "Little More Time with You". While his most famous songs may have been released over forty years ago, his career has everything but stagnated. He continuous to release new albums, and his live concerts are among the most successful and appreciated in the world.

US tours in summer and fall

James Taylor has recently announced shows for a summer tour (May 25 - July 4) and a fall tour (August 31 - September 10). It's possible more dates will be added to the fall tour at a later point.

Concerts cancelled and postponed

Due to a Covid-19 infection James Taylor has had to cancel his performances in Zurich, Berlin and Antwerp this week. The concert in Frankfurt has been rescheduled to November 19th.

James sent this message: "For those of you who were expecting to see us in Zurich, Berlin and Antwerp: I'm so sorry to miss these three dates and very disappointed we have to cancel, I guess it's just my turn..."

James Taylor featured on new Buddy Guy and Zac Brown Band albums

Friday september 30th saw the release of two albums on which James Taylor is a featuring artist. James sings with Buddy Guy on the album track "Follow The Money", from Buddy Guy's new album "The Blues Don't Lie". James also sings and plays guitar on "Love And Sunsets", from the deluxe version of the Zac Brown Band album "The Comeback".

European tour band

The JT Newsletter has just announced the touring band for the European tour. James will be accompanied by a 3-man rhythm section (Steve Gadd, Mike Landau, Jimmy Johnson). Only in the UK there will be piano (Larry Goldings) and backing vocals (Arnold McCuller, Dorian Holley, Andrea Zonn, Kate Markowitz).
