James Taylor sings the American Songbook

Multiple media have this week mentioned that James Taylor is working on an album of American (Jazz) standards that is scheduled to be released fall of this year. For the album, James has worked with renowned Jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli and producer Dave O'Donnell, who also produced James' most recent albums.

In contrast to other albums with songs from the American songbook, James' album will be very much guitar-based, creating an album that highlights James' guitar arrangements of some of his favorite standards. We do not know yet which songs will be on the album, but in interviews James has named a few songs that have been recorded, such as "My Blue Heaven", "Teach Me Tonight", "God Bless the Child" and "Moon River".
